SAP CRM Quota Planning for employees in sales groups as head of sales office

Hi,

our sales managers are recently facing issues while trying to plan the quota for appendant units.

Orgmodel is set up like this:

_sales office A

__sales manager A

__sales employees A

____sales group A1

_____sales manager A1

_____sales employees A1

____sales group A2

_____sales employees A2

In the past (at least for the last fiscal year planning) sales managers of sales offices were able to plan the quota for all appendant units; e.g. sales manager A were able to plan either the quota for the sales groups A1 & A2 in general but also for the individual sales reps/employees within these groups - this is like the system should behave imo.

As of now (probably since upgrade to EHP4 SP2 as this was the only major upgrade that could have involved the system behavior like that), sales managers are only able to distribute the quota for units directly below them and not for the individual employees within the sales groups anymore. While trying to drill down to the groups, they face following error message: "User not assigned correctly or at all to the organizational hierarchy"

However, some sales groups (like A2 in the example above) do not have their own managers, so sales managers from the sales office have to take over the planning.

The only workaround that I can think of is to "simply" assign the according employee as head of every sales group in addition to his actual assignment. Thereby he would have to select the proper organization unit each time he creates an activity in SAP CRM without relation to a customer though..

Does anyone face the same issue and found a solution for it? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks and best regards,

Daniel

Hi Spencer,

thanks for the information but unfortunately this note doesn't deal with our issue.

Are there any further suggestions?
Thanks,
Daniel
