Hello SolMan Gurus,

I have come across SSO between Portal systems and other SAP Systems.

Now I am wondering whether SSO is possible between SolMan and other SAP systems?

Your replies will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Alagammai,

Yes, SSO is possible with solution manager as well. And the procedure is same as other sap systems.

Hi Satish,

Thank you for the reply.

The links you have sent are all talking about Portal or Web AS or mobile systems. Is there anything about SolMan available?

Can the SolMan system be the Logon Ticket Issuer for SSO like Portal?

best regds,

Alagammai.

Hey Arunachalam,

SSO can be enabled between any two SAP systems by linking them through a trusted RFC......

Basically CHARM scenario also makes use of this concept which helps you to logon to satellite sytems from solman itself without having to provide the logon details for the satellite system...prerequisite being that your user also needs to be existant in the target satellite system....

Inspire ppl by rewarding....

Hi Anand,

Thanks for your reply too. Of course, I am aware of this trusted logon using RFC.

But, the requirement of having the same userid in the trusted system is the overhead.

Hope in an SSO scenario using Logon tickets, this requirement of having the same userid in the trusted system will not be there. Pls correct me if I am wrong.

I am expecting something of that sort, rather than this RFC.

Hey Arunachalam,

Even the SSO works on the same concept.....You will be\should be allowed to logon to the target system only if the target system recognizes and authenticates you....

Now you are allowed to logon to the system without user id over there, then thats a breach of conduct...and mostly against any organizations policy.......

Hope this clarifies..

Hi

i think you my need to brief your requirement as solman is another Sap system like crm and between portal and solman absolutely possible irrespective of domain name but user id should be same on both the systems.

or if u are talking about support desk scenerio then user mapping is also practical where you can map many user to special group
