Support Pack Error:Error in phase: IMPORT_PROPER

Dear all,

I m trying to apply Support Pack 16 for SAP_BASIS component.I m getting the following error:

"Error in phase: IMPORT_PROPER

Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE

Return code: 0008"

Kindly suggest how to proceed.

Basis can be the hardest support packages to recover from. Before you started did you run report btctrns1 (using se38) to place background jobs on hold? (when spu2019s are done run btctrns2 to release them). At the phase you are at, you may not be able to run any basis transactions but I would be sure nothing else is running. Sometimes I think it is better to run one support package at a time.

Hi,

I highly request you to update your TP,R3trans or Upgrade latest available kernel. After applying the latest kernel please re-run the SP queue. In most of the cases it will get through.

Hi,

Can you please check ST22, TPSys log and at STMS please check the import queue. In import queue you will be able to see SAPKA****** as a request. Go to import monitor and click on the request just check, it has generated any objects on your right side of the screen or not.

Kindly give me the last few line of the logs. In ST22 if you find ABAP program error than you have to contact SAP for the resolution I guess.

Try this and let me know.

Hi,

ST22 in tab of information terminated

Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_SRT_WSP_GLOBAL_PROPERTY====CP" -

in "UNLOCK_STATIC".

The main program was "SRT_CCMS_DATA_COLLECTOR ".

In the source code you have the termination point in line 5

of the (Include) program "CL_SRT_WSP_GLOBAL_PROPERTY====CM00H".

The program "CL_SRT_WSP_GLOBAL_PROPERTY====CP" was started as a background job.

Job Name....... " "

Job Initiator.. " "

Job Number..... " "

The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_FUNC"

occurred in

procedure "UNLOCK_STATIC" "(METHOD)", but it was neither handled locally nor

declared

in the RAISING clause of its signature.

The procedure is in program "CL_SRT_WSP_GLOBAL_PROPERTY====CP "; its source

code begins in line

1 of the (Include program "CL_SRT_WSP_GLOBAL_PROPERTY====CM00H ".

I had already raisd message with SAP.But still no reply.

They are in procession status

Hi Amit,

They will be requiring some time to rectify the problem. Most probably they will ask you for the Remote Connection. It seems like Function/Program error.

Deleted the japanese entries from table RSMPTEXTS for programs BTFR_COPY and BTFR_COPY_TRALA and then applied SAP note 542302

Dear MLN,

Thanks for the reply.My STMS is configured correct.When I check overview of the transport logs it shows there as

"Table RSMPTEXTS: Duplicate record during array insert occured.

Main import

End date and time : 20081022175344

Ended with return code: ===> 8 <==="

I had also reffered to the note :822379 - Known problems with Support Packages in SAP NW 7.0 AS ABAP

but did not proved to be helpful.

Kindly suggest on the same.

I m applying support pack in CRM.So when I check the option of Displau/define Q i shows me list of 5 sp's of sap_basis component frm 10 to 16 level.Where can i get the info u had asked.
