Former Member

Dear Sir/Madam,

I drew a Data flow diagram, made a flow from Process 1 to process 2 by a flow. I named that flow is MyFlow. I right click on that flow and select format /content/name and click OK. The description(name) appear. But when I close and reopen the file, the description disappear. Pls help me to fix it.

Thanks

Quang Hai

I also tried this, and it works OK for me, using the "Analysis" and "Data Flow Diagram" languages. I'm using PD 16.6 SP05 PL02 (mostly 'cos I didn't know SP03 is out - why do they never announce these things?).

You could change the Display Preferences for all Flows, instead of changing individual flows. In the PD help, look for

Core Features Guide > Modeling with PowerDesigner > Diagrams, Matrices, and Symbols > Display Preferences

I went to support.sap.com to get the new patch level, and discovered that Service Pack 06 was issued on April 27th 🙂

Dear George McGeachie,

Thank you very much. I got it from your advice.

Tools\Displaypreferences\content\flow\name.

Best regards,

No problem - I've seen similar examples of default display preferences being applied, overriding individual symbol settings, but I haven't pinned it down yet. it's definitely worth reporting it to SAP

Hi,

I tried your steps in PD 16.6 SP05 PL03 and it works as expected (=correctly). What is your version?
