SAP ITS for EP6.0 & R3 4.7

Dear All,

I need to implement ITS functionality for communication between my backend system SA R3 4.7 Ext 1.10 and the portal platform 6.0 WAS 6.40 SP 9.

I need this for implementing the ESS facility. The portal page is to published on the web.

I have installed the Portal system and configured the SLD for the same to the R3 system. I had also installed one of the ITS instances for my R3 system and able to view the transaction of SAP on the web browser.

Now as far as my assumptions I need to install one more ITS instances for the portal system, and configure the same. Also I need to configure SSO and other ESS functionalities from the portal system to the R3 side.

I tried installing the ITS instance for portal and tried to add the instance in the IACOR admin service, but this resulted in a RFC error.

Can you please help me in configuring the ITS instance for the Portal system and doing the other necessary configurations.

I would also request you to help me out with the standard steps through links or documents for performing the steps for configuring the R3 server through ITS to the portal system and publishing the page to the WWW.

Expecting your reply at the earliest.

Thank you

Regards,

Vineeth

Hello Vineeth,

If you already have an ITS instance for the R/3 system that is working then you can use that in the Portal. You need to create an iView in the Portal, this is essentially a link to the ITS.

Dear Edgar,

Thank you very much for the reply.

I have a new question.

If I am to allow my R3 users access the system through interner, I have to setup SLD, SSO then do I need UME for the User Mapping?

I have configured SLD and SSO, a user existing in the R3 side and also created in the portal is able to login to the R3 system without providing any password for the R3 system. This does not work for an user who is not created in the portal system.

Kindly help me with these questions.

Thank you

Hello Vineeth,

I'm not sure I understand the question. If a user is not a Portal user than how do you expect them to be authenticated? Logon certificate? Basically we have to have a way to authenticate the user. It sounds like you've got it working from Portal to ITS, but you want a solution for endusers without Portal access? If so then you will need to choose how you want them to logon.
