Number range interval error: Asse classes

Hi: On my current project, there is an existing chart of Dep. assigned a new company code. I have assigned a new company code to this chart of dep. However, when I go to define number range intervals for my new company code, I get error " Company code does not exist."

I am not even able to copy number range intervals from existing to new company code. Please help me figure out what's wrong.

Thanks,

QuinB

The new company code has to be fully defined in FI before you can assign a chart of depreciation to it.

Hi thanks for your response. The new company code is already fully defined in FI. Unless there is something that I missed that I can't figure out.

Thanks again.

Some configuration is probably missing. Your error message says that the "company code doesn't exist." That means that it is not defined. Go through the configuration of the company code again, defining the company, the global parameters, etc...

Ok, I figured it out. Client stated all new company codes in US must be assigned to existing

company codes.

The current configuration is that all new company codes get assigned to the 1st/ initial company code that has already been configured with Asset Number Ranges. Thus all subsequent new company codes will be assigned to the initial company code that's providing number ranges.

Path:

SPRO -> Asset Accounting->Organizational Structures->specify Number assignment accross company codes.

Thanks, QuinB
