ALPHA conversion: BI 7: Not returning the correct value

BI 7. Datasource with DB Connect.

Please assist with the following? I did check SDN, but could not find a solution to my problem (forgive me if I missed it)

I have a master data InfoObject, with 'data type' = CHAR, length = 5, with ALPHA conv = APLHA.

The field in db = 00013, when I upload to PSA it = 00013 (correct), when using DTP to MD infoObject it returns '13' (incorrect). I want '00013' to display in the master data IO. What do I do to get this right?
