Rough Equivalent of PCUI MAC in CRM 2007 Web GUI.

Hi Everyone:

What's the equivalent of PCUI MAC in CRM 2007 WebUI. I am missing the part that associates the BOL object with ABAP class that populates the BOL object with the data. I am clear about data transfer from BOL object -> Component/View Context -> View element.

Since most of us are well versed in PCUI I think it would a great benifit to the community if some one writes a blog comparing and contrasting PCUI architecture versus Component based WebGUI architecture.
