Outlook Integration

Hi,

I'm currently trying to get Outlook Integration up and running for our Salespeople on the road and I'm having some issues.

The primary goal of this is to enable them to manage contacts and activities that are assigned to them in-house.

Because they work in Outlook but when offline, and don't have B1 installed on their PCs, I went with the OI standalone.

The problem is that it doesn't seem to play very well with VPNs and slower connections (they are using 3G modems which should give 3.8MBps but in reality it's more like 1.5) - I find that it takes over a minute in some cases to login to the DIAPI, and ages to sync contacts, etc - and if the connection drops then the whole process hangs.

Is there any official SP stance on using OI like this, for example "is not supported for offline use over VPN" so that I can at least call it a day and look for some other solution?
