Hi Abdellatif,

Portal role defines what a user can see in the Portal.

R/3 role defines what a user can perform/do in the backend system.

In order for a user to display and access/execuite backend system activities via the Portal, he need to have both the Portal role that contains the needed iview (display), and he requires backend system role in order for him to execute the transaction from the iview.

How to transport R3 roles to the Portal..see above as its already mentioned.

Hope that helps and award points for helpful suggestions.

Hi,

Follow below steps to convert R/3 role to Portal role.

1. Login to Portal

2. Goto System Administration --> Transport --> Click on Role Upload.

3. Select your "SAP system",

Select Object type as "Role"

Enter R/3 Role ID.

then Click on "Search" button.

Select the role and click on "Add" button.

then say next and etc...

Note: SAP System should be configured in Portal and have to user mapping for this system.
