Alessandro,

An Infotype is nothing but a grouping of logically related data. The advantage of Infotype is we can store data based on time lines.

Take Address (0006) Infotype, for example. In this Infotype you can have a grouping of House number, Street name, City, etc as a record.

But a person's address might be changed. In that case the two addresses are stored based on time lines. If the previous address is stored for the period 01.10.2007 to 13.01.2008, the new address is stored for the period 14.01.2008 to 31.12.9999.

Have a look at the Address Infotype for an existing employee through PA30; you can understand the concept.

Sorry Ranjith,

you are very very nice and i've just solved my problem but i've a last question for you: have i to create an infotype to fill in SAP HR tables like PA000, etc?

If i can, i assign you 1000000 of points! )

Thanks a lots,

Alessandro.

YES, you have to create an Infotype to fill the related table in the backend.

If the employee is already existing, some tables are already filled; as the related Infotypes already exist.

SAP HR master data is stored in Infotypes.

There are several Infotypes. For example,

Personnel Administration Infotypes: 0000 - 0999

Organizational Management and Personnel Development Infotypes: 1000 - 1999

Time Management Infotypes: 2000 - 2999

Recruitment Infotypes: 4000 - 4999

Custom Infotypes: 9000 - 9999

All this Infotype data are stored in tables in the backend.

Personnel Administration Infotypes: PA0000 - PA0999

Organizational Management and Personnel Development Tables: HRP1000 - HRP1999

If you want to fill these tables, you can do so by creating Infotype records; i.e. through TCode PA30.

You can view these tables via TCode SE16.
