PIR Consumption

Hi

I want to use consumption mode as backward/forward and periods 15 days each.I have maintained these details in material master.

During consumption the consumption is happening from last PIR.For example my requirement is on 12th and i have pirs from 1st to 31st.system should consume 12th PIR first then 11th and 10th so far...but system is consuming first on 1st PIR the 2nd..

Is there any setting?

Hi,

Have you assigned any MRP group? If so check the consumption mode in MRP group. MRP group has higher priority.

I have not maintained MRP group.All the details are maintained in material master.

Check the consumption mode, "2" - Backward and Forward in MRP3 view?

In planning strategy 10, PIRs will not be consumed by the customer requirements. This will be reduce when the goods will be issued against this order to the customer.

PIRs will reduce when you perform the confirmation and posts the Goods receipt to the storage location.

For consumption please check the setting of OMPC.

Yes .You are right.I am using all std settings only.strategy 10(req type LSF).But the consumption is not happening as per consumption mode, even in forward only(3) consumption is happening with the oldest PIR.

I am unable to understand why its happening?

Please post the details of the PIR dates, Sales order/Delivery Date, PGI dates.

Dear,

In Strategy 10, PIRs will not be consumed like in strategy 40.

They will be reduced. This happens when there is a Goods issue (PGI) to the Delivery.

When delivary done against a Sales order,PIR is consumed. When delivary done against a Sales order,PIR is consumed.

I have PIRs on 29th sep.16,17,20,21,22,23,24,27,28th Oct.

My sales order delivery date is today i.e 21st Oct i have done PGI also today..

My material master maintained with forward consumption mode and no of fwd consm days as 10 and backward as 0.

Still it is consuming the PIR on 29th sep...

What can be the reason...Strategy 10 and req type LSF

Gobi,

This may be a program error, look for OSS notes. Before that check OPMC transaction and look for the defination of Requirement class "100", Consumption Indicator field should be blank.

I have a couple of similar PIR consumption problems. We recently applied all the latest hotpacks and it could be related to that.

We have weekly PIRs, strat 11... When I confirm a production order for week 45, it should consume the related PIR for that week. However, it leaves that PIR in place and takes out week 46 PIR. No matter what setting in IMG or material master.

Please let us know what their response is.

In LSF- strategy 10.

The system always reduces the oldest planned independent requirements unless the consumption fields (Consumption mode, Fwd consumption per., Bwd consumption per.) PIR will be consumed once Good Issue is done for the delivery/sale order. You can see this quantity as withdraw quantity in the scheduline line tab in MD63.

Have you maintained in the material master or in the MRP group?

You can use Planning Strategy 40,with consumption mode as '2'(Backwar/Forward) and backward consumption period as 15 day) n forward consumption Period as 15 days.This will solve your problem.

The system automatically consume the PIR in backward first upto the specified period and start consuming the forward after the period

Check whether have you assigned MRP group in material master MRP1 view.

What is the requirement type you are working with? It is surpring to hear that it deletes oldest PIR than the latest ones just before the requirement date.

Req type is LSF
