Can´t connect to SAP BPC Netweaver with Public IP

Hi experts.

When login to SAP BPC web admin, everything is ok with both private and public ip addresses. When login to SAP GUI with private IP address everything is ok too. But, when trying to login to SAP GUI with public IP address, it asks for client, user, password and language, but the "Login not possible (error in license check)" error message comes out.

Regards.

    Hello,

I have not found this issue reported by any other BPC customer. Please provide some further details about what you mean by public and private IP address, in terms of BPC. Are you referring to aliases defined for BPC?

    • Hi,

To the best of my knowledge you can connect to BPC web client only through web services that are configured through ICF. These are the hosts and their external aliases that are listed when you execute SICF, anything outside of that list will not work. Furthermore, IP addresses can be used to replace the server names, only if there is mapping between IP address and a valid he host names, configured through ICF, in Windows hosts file.
