How to give number ranges in prodcution server

HI

gurus

in our production server i need to arrange a seperate number range for the billing doc type based on f2, bv, g2 and l2 as the requriements but wheni created directly in productio server number ranges are slected

and no transport request is created but while assigned to respective doc type the number ranges a customizing requrest is geting generated which we are not supposed to create in production server

but indeveopment i am not able to create the same number range as it is occupied how to solve this issue so that the number ranges is fixed

Number Range object is maintained in Billing Document which is transported to Production server through Transport Request, but number range has to be maintained in Production Server through T.Code: VN01.

hi,

you can edit the number range in dev server by VN01 and creat the request manually by choosing "Intervel-->Transport" in VN01 menu bar, then release this request to your prd server.

I think your problem is number range number to be assigned in the billing document type. You will have to do this in development server and the request should be transported to production server. Dont do this activity directly in production server.

While assigning the number range number system doesnot check whether the number range number is existing or not. So there is no need to create the number ranges in SNRO in development server. After the request is released and transported you can change the number range numbers in the document types to the previous ones in development server and save in a dummy request which should not be transported.

Yes as it is created the number range is not asking for any request but when i assign the number range to the billing type it is asking for request how to solve this as it is production server

Hi,

you have to create number ranges directly in the production server. The number ranges rae not transported from the Dev server. For creating the number range, goto t code SNRO. give the object. And goto change. and give the number range.
