XI-3.0 Vs PI-7.0 Vs PI-7.1

Hi All,

I have few concerns regarding the recent version of SAP XI.

1. Is PI 7.1 is release in market for customer use.

2. If not then when it is expected to released in market.

3. What are the advance/additional features for PI 7.1.

4. What else will we get as an additional feature in PI 7.0.

5. What are the basic/advance features in PI 7.0 than XI 3.0.

XI 3.0 Versus PI 7.0

I have found few points from different threads. If there is anything please dotted it out.

XI runs on Netweaver 2004 and PI runs on Netweaver 2004s.

They basically have the same technical functionality but when SAP launched Netweaver 2004s, to bring all objects of Netweaver 2004s in Synchronous with the WAS version, XI was renamed to Process Integration (PI 7.0) . Currently every SP release of XI has a corresponding release for PI and they both support the same functionalities.

XI3.0 is based on WAS(web application server)6.40 - NW2004 where

as PI7.0 is based on WAS(web application server)7.0 - NW2004's

The main difference between 3.0 and 7.0 is the GUI in SLD.

In 7.0 we can schedule a background job and edit the payload.
