Can´t log on to SAP system in ABAP from Eclipse in MAC OS

Former Member

Hello Experts,

I have an Eclipse Oxygen Installation on my MAC OSX machine and want to connect to SAP Gui.

I am able log in in the SAP Gui 7.50 independently, but not through Eclipse.

Please suggest a help for this error.

I get the Error Message:

Please contact your system administrator. A new version of SAP GUI for Java needs to be installed.
Actual Version * SAP GUI 7.50 rev 1, 075000040100, /Applications/SAP Clients/SAPGUI 7.50rev1/SAPGUI 7.50rev1.app
Required Version 072000040600.

Thank you guys for all your time and details shared on this issue.

It is been resolved now.

I have changed the Java version from Java 9 to Java 8 and reinstall SAP Gui 7.5 again and it works perfectly now. Java version 9 should be removed completely from root system with all existing data to be flushed.

I have also tried with Gui 7.4 but not fruitful, so what i understand is, for Mac OS the correct combination is Java 8 and Sap Gui 7.5.

(Special help from Integration consultant Shashi Kant Nishad).

Hello j.mainka

I also posted similar issue at: https://answers.sap.com/questions/787056/javafx-11-and-eclipse-issue.html. For very temporary workaround you can create file /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-11.0.2.jdk/Contents/Home/lib/javafx.properties, then gui starts but you can not use any of web based transaction like dbacockpit or se80 in default

I'm having the same Problem - the note you mentioned is for was older releases...

SAP-Gui 7.50 rev 1

Eclipse 2018-12

SAP-Gui itself is starting fine,
but when i try to launch it from Eclipse i get the error:

Failed to open the SAP GUI for Java: Error while instantiating the embedded application SAP Gui Version Information: * SAP GUI 7.50 rev 1, 075000040100, /Applications/SAP Clients/SAPGUI 7.50rev1/SAPGUI 7.50rev1.app

The system reqirements are not met. Could not find: /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-11.0.2.jdk/Contents/Home/lib/javafx.properties Your Java Virtual Machine seems not to support JavaFX, required to run the SAP GUI for Java 7.50 rev 1 Please use a supported current Java Virtual Machine.

Even though Java is installed properly, also JavaFX

Hello,

I have heard of this problem before. Please refer to the comments in https://blogs.sap.com/2012/06/12/faqs-abap-development-tools-for-eclipse/

The proposed solution does not work, as I am already using Java 8 and it is the only installed version on my machine.

If I uninstall Java GUI 750 and install Java GUI 740 it works correctly.

Hello Daniel,

The issue is not in SAP GUI for Java itself, but in the code in AiE calling it, so I am not familiar with the details.

It looks like there is a correction available as part of

2009469 - Connection to system does not work anymore when using Linux or Mac

In case you need further help, please reach out to the ABAP Development community or open an incident on component BC-DWB-AIE.

Best regards

Rolf-Martin
