Dear All,

please advice with a real time example when there will be a circumstances where both header and item division will be different.

Hi Divya

In cross-division sales they are different.

Suppose,you have TV and its various range in you organisation which you have named as "01" division. That means all model of TV belong to "01" division.

You have also Refrigerator and its range as division "02".

All models of Refrigerator belong to "02" division.

Now, your customer has ordered for one TV and one Refrigerator which belong to two different division 01 and 02 (specified in the material master and called item division).

In this case, you are going for Cross-division sales.

So in the Sales area , you have to use "00" as division which is called cross-division, then only system will allow you to process material of different division in one Sales order.

So ,here "Header division" is "00" , which is different from "Item division" 01( TV) and 02(Refrigerator).

No configuration is reqd

IN VOV8 If item division is ticked the division in MMR of that material takes control for that particular order

Suppose if you have customer in sales area 0003,04,21 say the cust no is 70000053 and for him if you enter a sales order for a product say BOTTLE belonging to division 22

This case header division is 21

item division is 22

Case 1 Item division is not ticked

Now for this sold to party 70000053 if there ia a ship to party lies in sales area 0003,04,22 this order can be saved and sale process can happen

Case2 Item division is ticked

The order itself is not possible as the SP Does not lie in item division

In short if Item division is ticked the division in MMR takes the control for that sales order

Pls try with the same in your system then only you will become more clearer

Division in sales order item comes from the material

Indicates whether the division at the item level is proposed from the material master record of the item or whether the division you enter in the sales document header also counts for all items.

Procedure

If you mark this field, the system proposes the division from the material master record of the item. If you leave the field blank, the division in the document header also counts for all items.

The controle is avilable sales document type controle.

Customer is a regular distributor of Honda cars so he was created with division '01-Cars' since he only deals in cars. This becomes your header Division. Now he wants to experiment selling Honda motorcycles also and places an order for a Honda m/c which is created for Division '02-motor cycles'. This becomes your item division and now the Header and Item divisions are different.
