SAP CAL Trial 1610 - cannot connect

I'm trying to connect to the trial for S/4 HANA 1610 and the only option is direct access with GUI, but non of the users with the password will connect me to the instance even the instance if up and running. The Guide doesn't provide any further information on the connectivity except the users. There is no information about the connection the Fiori Launchpad connection either.

    Hello,

Regarding the connectivity issue, please check https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/e4DiGg

Regarding the Fiori Launchpad, this trial is a clean installation of S/4HANA 1610 and the Fiori Launchpad is not preconfigured. We expect to release a new trial S/4HANA 1610 Fully Activated by the end of the year.

    Best regards,

    Stanimir

    • Dear Stanimir,

too bad that the S/4HANA 1610 solution does not contain the software component UIS4HOP1 which would be required to have the S/4HANA Fiori applications running in the embedded launchpad. And due to the fact that there is no maintenance key also the installation via SPAM is not possible. Are there any plans to ship this solution with the software component UIS4HOP1?

      Best regards
      Gregor

    Dear Sandra,

yesterday I've activated also the S/4HANA 1610 solution in my CAL Account. I've made a client copy and created my own user in the new client. Then I run the task lists to setup the Fiori Launchpad (https://gregorwolf.github.io/UX210/#/6/4). To get access to the Launchpad you have to add Port 50001 as an additional access point. But unfortunately the software component UIS4HOP1 is missing and because of that you don't have the Fiori apps for S/4HANA 1610 in this solution.

    Best regards
    Gregor

    Hi Sandra, Gregor,

the fully-activated CAL appliance for S/4HANA 1610 is planned for December. This will have Fiori, Best Practices, demo data and other items included.

    Best,
    Joerg

    Hi Greg,

yes, 30 days are covered by the trial licenses for both SAP CAL and the S/4HANA appliance.

Extension beyond 30 days as before via the CAL subscription package.

    Best,

    Joerg
