material price change

Currently, I have material master assigned to Purchase Orders which are good through our fiscal

year. I know how to change material prices, but what may be the impact does this have on the Purchase Orders.

Is the only solution to close out those line items and create new ones so that the price is updated, or

is there a way the system can update automatically ?
