Reference Update ODS (CRM)

Hi All,

I am developing CRM reports.Currently i am using the Cube 0CRM_PRI ( Service Orders and Confirmations: Item Data).While i am checking the Dataflow diagram, they have used 2 level ODS.

One is for

1. Reference Update

2. Service Order Item Data.

I just want to know,

1. what is the use of Reference Update ODS.

2. Currently i am pulling data only from CRM System and ECC SYSTEM . Do we need to use Reference Update ODS. What will happen if i didnt use Reference Update ODS.

Can you please provide some details on this.
