hi all,

i know that assets are sold in fi module. is it possible to open a sales order for an asset?

No it is not possible as material code is not existing and only asset master is created. If you want to use sale process then material code has to be created for that particular asset.

To sell the asset from SD route, Asset has to be maintained as a material, only after which it can be sold through SD route.

Yes we can make asset sales, provided sales view should have been maintained for the asset material code

In fact, on excise duty part, if the asset is purchased with duty paid, the same amount should be charged while selling also. If not, while selling also, it should not be charged.
