Live Office with Xcelsius 2008

Hello,

I Have a problem with the option "live Office" in my Xcelsius. I can't active this option because it's disable. How can I install this option in my Xcelsius?

Regards,

Robert G.

LiveOffice is a separate product you have to install.

Once you do you can enable the LiveOffice check box.

    Roberto,

What version of Xcelsius 2008 do you have installed?

LiveOffice Compatibility mode option is only available in Xcelsius 2008 Engage Enterprise. Any other version will show the option as disabled.

    Thanks.

      Hi Roberto,

There are 3 versions of Xcelsius Engage:

      1.) Xcelsius Engage

      2.) Xcelsius Engage Server

      3.) Xcelsius Engage Enterprise

From the looks of it, it seems like you are using the first one, Xcelsius Engage. Therefore, the LiveOffice Compatibility mode option should definitely be disabled.

Did you have a keycode for Engage Enterprise prior to SP1? I can't think of any reason why the LiveOffice Compatibility mode would be available.

For your problem - I tried copying/cutting and pasting data from an external instance of Excel 2007 to the embedded spreadsheet inside my copy of Xcelsius Engage and I could not reproduce the issue.

      Here's what I did:

1.) Open an instance of Excel 2007

      2.) Start up Xcelsius Engage

3.) Copied some data from the Excel spreadsheet

4.) Pasted the data to the embedded spreadsheet inside of Xcelsius Engage

Were these your steps as well? Which version of Excel are you using (XP, 2003, 2007)?

As far as LiveOffice goes, you cannot just install it. You need a license for BusinessObjects Enterprise in order to get access to the product.

And yes, as stated before, the LiveOffice Compatibility mode option is only available in the Enterprise version of the product. However, regardless of having LiveOffice installed or not should have NO effect on whether you can copy/paste data between external instances of Excel to the embedded spreadsheet.
