Custom Condition Type: set default UoM

Dear all,

I have a custom condition type, say ZABC, manual entry, that when it's used in the conditions for a sales order item, it automatically gets the UoM equal to the sales unit.

I would instead want that this particular condition type gets always 'KG' as UoM, nothwithstanding whatever the sales unit is.

It's true that, after entering the value, the UoM can be changed by the user, but I want to automate this.

I've already tried, in V/06, to set 'KG' as UoM in the 'Scales' section, but doesn't work.

Do you have any suggestion for this.

It would have been ideal had you explained with an example for better understanding. How your current master date set up is ?

Hi,

The customizing for the condition type is as follows:

When entering the condition type with its value in the sales order item conditions tab, the condition itself gets the sales unit as UoM.

That is, if the sales unit is piece (PC) and the condition value is, say, 3.00 €, the following is happening:

As shown, the UoM can be manually updated to 'KG'. No issue for that.

However, what I would like to achieve is to automatically set, always, 'KG' as UoM for this condition.

This, with the aim to avoid asking every time the users to update the UoM.

Hope this is possible through customizing or user-exit.

The first solution to come to my mind is to create a dummy condition record with 0 value per 1 KG for this condition type, but in this case you would need to enter dummy condition records per every currency, and you would have to default the currency in master condition record. This, of couse, would be changeable in order entry.

Well, actually I don't have condition records for this condition type, and would like not to create them, if possible.

Hoping there could be a solution via customizing / user-exit.

If you could solve the issue with master data, why search for a customizing, or even worse, development solution?
