Well 1 issue is CRR1 cannot be installed on an XIR2 server, the other way around works but then a patch could cause similar problems so we always recommend only installing the exact same version on the server (CRR2).

If installing XIR2 on 64 bit what patch level are you installing. I suggest only integrated SP4 and above (although SP3 technically is supported you must install XIR2 SP2 1st which is problematic on 64 bit OS).

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the reply.

But my exact problem is i have downloaded BO XI R2 from your portal and i believe that it is SP4 (Service pack).

Now my situation is like that i have Oracle Database 10g 64 bit (residing in SUN Solaris 10 clustered environment).

Now i want to Install BO XI R2 in a windows 2003 server 64 bit and want to connect to the SUN DB server. At the time of Installation there is no error but when i am trying to UP the CMS the error is coming "Failed to retrive cluster name from database... not a valid win 32 application". What is the way out.

Pls help

I'm not quite sure, I'd recommend opening a message with support. XIR2 SP4 should install fine on 64 bit OS. Sounds like something isn't right with the oracle middleware.

Tim
