Change location of /oracle/SID/oraarch

Dear All,

We have a solution manager installed on Windows 2003 server. This temporary installation, now due to time constraints will be used for go live.

My issue here is that oraarch directory exists on a volume with /usr and this disk volume has only 5GB free. Due to this oraarch keeps filling up fast. I added more disk space and want to move oraarch to new partition.

Can anyone help me out here?

regards, Sean.

    Hi Sean,

the parameter log_archive_dest in initSID.ora sets the destination of the offline redologs.

right now it must be something like "/usr/SID/oraarch/SIDarch"

You can shutdown SAP, run brarchive to make sure all the offline redologs are backed up. then change the parameter by brtools. (log_archive_dest) to the newly created destination.

    restart oracle. then start sap.

    Regards,

    Debasis.
