Hi All,

This is chandra as per my client requirment its posiable to maintain one material master with 2 diffent item category groups. That means One Mateial Maste data Item category group NORM same material master 001(Make to order) .

Plz help me.

Hi,

You done it with MM01.

Enter MM01, Enter your material code and press enter.

Select only sales view and press enter

Take plant, sales org. and distribution channel(for which material master is not maintain or different against which material is not maintain)

Then enter your required detail and click on save.

Hi there,

I guess if you maintain 2 different item catg groups, system will give a different material num for both the masters if they are from same plant.

In MM03, there are 2 fields. General item catg grp & item catg grp. In VOV4, system takes the entry in the item catg grp to do item catg determination. Not the general item catg grp.

So you can enter 0003 in general item catg grp & NORM in item catg grp & save the material master. But for determination system takes only NORM. It willnot take 0003.

This means that you cannot have both 0003 & NORM in item catg grp for the same item in the same plant. System will give different material num in that case.

Dear Chandra,

If you are maintaining same material in two different plant you can maintain the master data with two different item category groups in the each plant.

But If you have single plant you can't maintain two itemcategory groups in the single master data.

Item cat group of Material is specific to Sales org & dist channel.

u can maintain diff item cat groups- for diff comb's of Sales org & dist Channel.

or else -

in item cat determination: maintain the "proposed item cat for Make to order" & change manually while creating sales order-

if u dont want to change manually in SO-

then follow the first one
