Hi guys how are you?

I need some help with a requirement.

I have a lot of Z search helps, but I do not know what I have to do for them to behave like this for example, when I enter the nationality and it's fill the read only field with a description.

Is this done by configuration or implementation?

I appreciate any help.

Best regards.

Hi Ronaldo,

Assign a value table to data element and create corresponding text table for the value table. MDG will add text field additionally in the feeder class class definition.

Hi Logan, thanks for your answer, but I'm new in this MDG, FPM stuff, so I have to make you kind of silly questions.

Let me show you an example that I have here.

In my form I have this field.

This field have a search help attached, as you can see.

And this value help have both tables.

If this is correct according your answer, I do not understand why there is no text field in the form, as the nationality field have.

Another thing is not clear to me is if I have to do something in the feeder class in order to fill this text value or whether it's automatic.

Could you please clarify this a little bit to me? ( forgive me for this spanish in the images )

Hi Logan, another example.

In my form I have a field called other nationality and on this case I've created a Z data element with a LAND1 domain this field is in BUT000 as includ field in CI_EEW_BUT000.

By doing this, is it should not generate the __TXT field? I cannot see this field in the structure CS_DATA in the method GET_DATA of the feeder class.

best regards

Hi Ronaldo,

MDG has its own data base tables and structures generated.

You supposed do it in MDG Data model. create a new attribute in MDG and assign a data element which contains value table and corresponding text table created for value table. Once you generate a data strutures ,In fpm you can see extra field like attribute name_txt. If it is a existing field in MDG, then assign custom data element with value table assigned or fixed values assigned.

Otherwise you can also assign a search help in data element of MDG attribute or assign search help directly in FPM properties of the attribute or you can also modify the field definition in the feeder class level.

Hi Logan, how are you?

I'm back again with this issue.

I believe now I can explain this better than before. The problem with the __TXT fields that no appers and I don't know why, is because my Z fields is in BS_BP_DETAILS component.

I would like to know why the standard fields, for example NATIONALITYPRS has his __TXT field NATIONALITYPRS__TEXT.

But my ZZ_NATIO does not.

But when the component is 100% Z, it works.

Any ideas?

Hi Ronaldo,

If you have created text table to the value table assigned to data element, It will show *.txt field in the feeder definition.

To include your custom fields ,customize the standard component. Even though you plan to enhance standard component ,it should show *.txt custom field. Incase if it is not working, consider to generate MDG relvant strutures one more time.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Gustavo, thanks for your insight.

But I don't think so, because I'm not using this search help in a classical dympro but in a FPM Web dynpro.

Hi Ronaldo,

This is achieved when the search help exports multiple fields which are received by multiple attributes of a single context node. The context node must be defined using a dictionary structure with the relevant fields. Please see the following for a walk through.

Using Importing/Exporting Search Help Parameters in Web Dynpro ABAP
