Dear Friends
I have a production planning scenario: Demand drives the production planning. Here capacity constraint is labor and not the machine.
For example I have 10 production lanes and 20 labors. I have a demand for 4 weeks (W1, W2, W3, and W4) and all the four weeks demand varies. W1 demand 5000, W2 demand 4000, W3 demand 6000 and W4 demand 6500. When the demand varies week by week I need to use my labor as per the demand requirement. When the demand is high I need to use them to the fullest and the demand is low I need to use the labor as per the requirement. I donu2019t need excess labor when demand is low. So how can I setup this labor constraint using capacity category Labor in the work center?
I heard using the pooled capacity we can setup this scenario. Defining different version in ECC pooled capacity for example V1 for my first week and V2 for my 2nd week etcu2026..
Please provide me a valuable answer and steps to define the above said scenario
Thanks
Sharath
Hi,
Depends upon the demand you can increase your shift for a particular period only by increasing the shift intervals. Normally you are running 1 shift for your normal production, suddenly for festival season you are getting more demand means, you include one more shift to cater your increased demand. This you can define in the capacity version as a different version and also you can define the validity for the capacity version like valid from date and valid to dates.
