Cannot log into Designer or Deski using AD

Hi,

I just configured the AD setup and I can log into CMC , Infoview without any issue using AD. But I cannot log into Designer or Deski. Do I have to configure anything special on the client machine.? I am getting the below error. I am using XI3.0 on windows 2003 server & using Tomcat as application server.

[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(No authority can be contacted for authentication. Please make sure the Domain Controller is reachable.(hr=#0x80042a01)

    Nope, they are in different domains. I don't think both domains are trusted.

    • so the general rule of thumb is this

      If the domains are in the same forest then a two way trust is automatic.

      If your user works on the server then is shouldn't be a trust issue.

      If your workstation is in a different forest then client tools may not be able to communicate with the local forest. You can verify the relationship from the server - mmc - domains and trusts.

      All users have access

    I'm not getting any hits on our DB but the error seems to indicate that the clients cannot reach a DC.

    Is this error happening on the server or on client workstations? Is there a firewall on the client computers or between them and the server?
