BDFG or custom IDOC for EQUI

Hi All,

I have an requirement where in we have to create custom fields and send data for EQUI along with custom fields for equipment master to be sent to another SAP system.

Could you suggest me if creating a solution through custom segment will help or should I extend the IDOC through BDFG
