I would like to seek your opinion on support/future of NW702 Java AS.
We have an application developed by a group of expert WebDynPro developers in early 2000 and not maintained or migrated to latest versions of NW.
We tried our best to migrate this application to run on NW731 AS, we are currently facing many errors.
Since it’s legacy application we neither have original developers nor architecture diagram to fix the issues.
We understand that NW702 support is ended in December 2017.
Now we are stuck and need your expert advice.
Hi Sreedhara,
You can find the information related to NW maintenance in the SAP Note: 1648480
The situation is that you can run your server and your application till you would like. But if you have any problem with it (on 7.0x) SAP will not provide new bug fixes.
If the application is working properly, you satisfied with it and don't want to develop it further you can use it.
Unfortunately I don't know when ended the support for NW 640.
Best regards,
Szabolcs

Hi Szabolcs,
Thanks a lot for the valuable information.
Now I feel very relieved.:)
Yes..! The application is running perfectly fine on NW702,SP09 J2EE engine. We are not looking for further development, as our application user base retreating.
Thanks for the info, we prefer to keep current system intact.
Kind regards,
Sreedhar

Hi Sreedhar,
Just one more point.
It is possible to go for customer specific routes in such cases. Below has more information on this:
SAP Note 52505 - Support after end of mainstream/extended maintenance
Finally the last SP stack (31) for SAP NetWeaver Application Server for Java 6.40 was released on 01/2013.
Kind Regards,
