I need some B1 Query help regarding OPKL and ORIN

Hi,

On the OPKL (Pick List) table - I have these two UDF's:

U_Picker

U_Packer

These UDF's also exist on the ORIN (AR Credit Memo) table.

I need to develop the below report:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Variable selection: U_Packer and date range:

+ Packer

+ No. Orders Picked

+ No. Lines Picked

+ No. Items Picked

+ No. of credits - Orders

+ No. of credits - Items Qty

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Can the OPKL and ORIN tables be joined - and if so, how would I go about doing this?

Cheers

Rick

    Hi Richard,

    You cannot connect these two tables as they are not directly related. OPKL can be joined to PKL1, which can be joined to RDR1, which can be joined to ORDR, both of which can be joined to DLN1, which can be joined to ODLN, both of which can be joined to INV1, which can be joined to OINV, both of which can be joined to RIN1, which can then finally be joined to ORIN.

    The best way (in my probably not humble enough opinion) to make this work, is to extend both user fields to the document lines. Then when you pick and pack a line, you update the user fields in the corresponding line in RDR1, which will then propagate forwards, through the entire transaction chain.

    Do it either way, but you need to realize that you are going to be faced with either unreliable data or a rigid working process. Why, you ask? Well, the method you are thinking of requires that the order is picked and packed in its entirety by one (or two) person, and even the method I am suggesting requires a single line to be picked and packed in its entirety by one (or two) persons, when technically an order, and even a single line, can be picked and packed by multiple people.

    Regards,

    Johan
