Default delete job in SAP PO

Hello Experts, We have SAP PO 7.5 and trying to archive/delete messages from PO. I went through below documentation for job types - https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/48/b2e0066b156ff4e10000000a42189b/frameset.htm

and have configured custom archive jobs for archiving and default delete job to delete messages which are not archived.

I have a query -

If a archive job finishes archiving @ 9.00 PM. Default delete job is scheduled to run @ 11.00 PM. Suppose a message which is to be archived but its persist until time is till10.00 PM, hence will not be archived. However when the default delete job runs, this message is expired. So will the default delete job delete this message?

Thanks,

Hello,

So if i understand correctly, the default delete job will check if the message to be deleted is covered by any archiving jobs ie. it will check the rules of all archiving jobs and delete the message only if it does not satisfy any rules of any archiving job.

Is that right?

Thanks,
Anand

Yeah that is correct.

Deleting Job
Used for deleting messages that are not to be archived.

And you said that you have configure the job, can you tell us what you have observed? is the documention aligning with your experiment with the system?

If you have scheduled archiving, then message will be deleted after archving.
