Hi All,

I have facing a problem in a client installation upgrade for SAP Business One 2005B.

I have installed SAP client to a PC and it is sucessfuly installed and when I open the SAP Business One from the client it shows a dailog box which say '`that your software version is not updated, SAP business One would shut down in order to perform automatic update. SAP Business would be restarted after the upgrade is completed''. The Okay is pressed and SAP get closed and again starts and gives an error as - ''An error has occured while upgrading your application, a full recovery will be performed''. Then I press Okay and another error comes as - ''No application is associated with the specified file for this Operation. C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\UpdData\ace2005.dll''

Hence I am not able to load SAP Client in a PC and not able to work on SAP client.

Please note that in server its SQL 2005. SAP Business One 2005B with patch level 39.

Problem faced in client machine has operating system of Windows Server 2003.

Any early response would be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Kawish

We were facing a similar problem.

It was sorted when we logged in to the client pc with the administrator login.

Also, we had addons that required dot net framework.

After installing that, the client PC was upgraded.

Hi,

The error message seems as same as the error message when I upgrade the client application from B1 2005A SP01 PL46 to PL50 in the citrix server the only different is the file name i.e. C:\program.....\sap business

one\upgdata\b1_enginesresource.dll.

what we do is that to uninstall the client application and then reinstall it. After that login to SAP B1 client and the system will upgrade it. If not solve, submit a ticket to SAP support

Check that the user logged on to the PC has administative rights to install software? This is a common cause of this issue.

Hi Kawish,

To completely uninstall any applications may not be an easy task. You need to check all registration keys, windows installers and temporary files to make sure nothing left from old installation.

Delete anything you found that related to B1, try a clean installation from there. If possible, you only other option is to reinstall your OS.

Thanks,

Gordon

Kawish,

I would suggest that you un install the client completely and then re install the client.
