Sub Total of UOM used

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

We have a Report req where we need the report layout as below:

Cost Element Value in reporting Currency Qty Unit of measure Vendor Doc no Date

Our first Issue is how to achieve this sequence of fieldsin BI as it has key figs(like quantity) in between and then again characteristics(like Unit of measure).

secondly in our data we have different 'unit of measure' for one cost center and thus we need sumary of number of each 'unit of measure' for one particular Cost center and then consolidated sumary for all the cost center.

Could anyone guide me to achieve this req

Thanks

To point out the obvious, UOM is usually an attribute of the key figure (and so it is not possible to change the order of the columns to add it to the master data attributes of cost centre).

However, it sounds as though your data is such that UOM is also an attribute of cost centre directly (in business terms). If that is so, you need to add UOM as an attribute of cost centre, and make sure the data is loaded as such.

THEN, UOM can be reported as an attribute of cost centre, with sub-totalling.

Thanks Patrick for this valuable information. In our case we have UOM in aour Cube dimenions(Unit dim) so we can easily drag it from there.our main concern here is to achieve sub totals at cost center and report level aswell.

Do u hv any Idea as to how can we achieve this?

Then I'm not clear as to what the difficulty is... you just need to add UOM to the drilldown and 'dont suppress results' to give you sub-totals.

Let me know if I'm missing something!

What i did was i added Cost Element and UOM in my rows and put the result row on for UOM.Difficulty m facing is that for one cost element we hav more than one UOM so how will it show in result row then?

Well, for that cost centre you will have a sub-total for each UOM, with an overall sub-total for that cost centre. If that doesnt look quite right, check out switching one off and the other on til you got what you want! (its always difficult explaining just what you will get without actually doing it).
