Hi,
We are doing both intercompany stock transfers (when SiteA and SiteB belong to two different companies and there is a PO/SO between them) and intracompany stock transfers (when SiteA and SiteB belong to the same company) in SAP ByDesign.
Sometimes, a Stock Transfer is planned between SiteA and SiteB. SiteA confirms the outbound delivery of the goods. The goods have not yet arrived in SiteB when the business decides to change the destination of the transfer to SiteC (for various reasons).
Here are the workarounds that we currently use:
- cancelling the original outbound delivery to make a new stock transfer
- receiving in SiteB and creating a new stock transfer between SiteB and SiteC
However, this is not ideal since it unsyncs the physical movements with the system movement, and makes it difficult to audit.
How can we reroute the goods to SiteC without going through these workarounds in both scenarios (intercompany and intracompany stock transfers)?
Thanks,
FX
Dear François-Xavier,
You do not have an option to change the receiving site for a stock transfer order which is already en-route to another site. You will have to cancel the order and create a new one or receive at the original destination and move to the new location, both of which you have mentioned above.
You only have the option to choose between location which falls under the receiving site.

Anand

Dear FX,
The reason being an assumption that the stock transfer orders would have been planned in advance and the site to which the stock is being sent would not be changed.
Stock transfer orders are now created via MRP runs as well and will be undergoing detailed planning in the company before execution. This feature is not currently in our backlog, but you can use the customer influence forum to post it as a requirement.
Regards,
Anand
