How to control assignment of the Batch Number based on user's input?

Hi,

Require a USER-EXIT or BADI to be invoked during the creation of a new batch (transaction MSC1N Create batch). Code should read the Material / Plant data combination and control the use of the field Batch. Code should dynamically allow either internal assignment or manual input based on the Material / Plant combination.

I found it. EXIT_SAPLV01Z_001 does the trick. A package contains many User-Exits, BADIs and enhancement points, so it took me a while to go thru all of them.
