Hi Gurus,
I have a question regarding the number range for WBS elements...
PSPNR value increments in a sequence each time when you are creating the wbs element
but it is only of 8 digits.....it is a system generated number starting with 00000001 to 99999999
OBJNR follows the same sequence which is also created by system for each wbs element but it is cancatinated with PR. (Ex:PR000000001)
So what will be the solution if i want to create a wbs element after that series i.e., 100000000
Do we have any way to increase the length of PSPNR from 8 digits....
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi,
no, there is no way of increasing the length of the internal number.
When you have reached the end of this interval, you have to do archiving and start anew. But this should take a while ;-).
Best regards,
Gerald.

Hi RAJ.
The data object J_OBJNR is a CHAR22 field and would leave open many othe possibilities. I have never seen a system with more than 1 Billion (!!!) projects though.
What happens at creation of a project or a WBS element is that an internal object number is triggered and stored in SAP memory. Especially when you do validations or substitutions at time of creation you have to read out this internal number.
Best regards.
