Hi Gurus,

Can anyone please help me in this regard.

how to create a new material, and an account,

when the standard cost for this is "Zero".

How can we restrict others not to do any posting when the standard cost for that particular material

is "Zero".

Hi Sham,

There is no control in SAP to stop using the material once it is created. But, the automatically, the transactions like Goods issue and GR cannot be done with out standard price in material master.

Why don't you make Standard Price as mandatory one while creating the materail master . That can be acheived through the transaction OMS2.

Dear Sham,

You can restrict postings in MM02 > Basic Data 1 > Material Status.

I didn´t understand your question "how to create a new material, and an account,

when the standard cost for this is "Zero"." You can create in the tcodes of mater data MM and FI.

It seems a bit strange that you create materials that have a standard price of zero. I agree with the person that said to set the status on the material, but you can also look at using validation in FI to check the amount field to not be zero. I believe this may be possible, have not tried it myself. You can also delay creation of the accounting view of the material master until you have a standard price. Some thoughts.
