DMS config

hai gurus

i m a SD Consultant.

my client has a new requirment,they want to track and make records of the export documents generated and passed to other departments in the company and to agents outside the company.

from one of Colleague i got to know that it can be done by SAP DMS.

can any one please help me out with this and send me some config docs.

Hi,

as per ur requirement for tracking -

1) you can use status network by which you can track the documents sent through any department. the status network can be set by means of creating statuses as per the requirement.

if you want to track documents sent to outside agencies where they dont have DMS, then this can be achieved by means of WebDMS.

configuration for setting up status network -

in dc10 you can create ur own document type, required statuses and for particular doc type you can create status network.

2) for Record - as per the standard availability in SAP DMS, you can make use of t-code CV04N where you can find all the documents as per doc types/users/status/descriptions etc..

for the required duration these records can be sorted out.

Hi SAP Gurus,

is using C-folder for external Docu Management is with integration of SRM,

please let me know how r we going to Integrate C-folder and DMS.

if the External agency or Vendor wants to access the documents stored in DMS with out openin SAP logon, is it possible for any Number of vendors or to only those vendors who have license to use our SAP System.

ie.. should the Vendor Buy the User License to Access the Document Stored in WEB DMS.

Hi,

c-folders is a package which helps for collaborating people for their business processes.it is a central location where people can store any information along with attachments.

it can not only be used with SRM but also with other R/3 modules like DMS.

external vendor without DMS can acess the files in cfolders but all the files has to be stored in folders which can be accesed by all (public folders) or private authorization only to the particular user,any number of users are permitted.

hi,

u can use DMS for your requirement but if data is small in size, u can go for easy DMS also..

For sharing documents with vendor u can use cFolder / Web DMS..

Its depends upon detail requirement what SAP module u can use..

Hi Lachhi,

DMS can be used for flow of documents to any other areas through object linking.

All the documents which are flown through DMS can be tracked and recorded.
