PPPI BOM Error

Hi,

SAP Gurus,

My client senario is PP-PI. I have one material for that i have 2 BOMs and 2 Recipes. Now I m trying to create third alternative BOM for the same material. But in cs01 system is giving me error message that 'BOM can only be extended via Master Recipe'. Why this error is comming. This only for this perticulor material. Other materials have no problem.

Please let me know what i have to do to resolve this issue.

Hi,

If once BOM is change or Created in Master Recipe itself then for that Material code you have to use Master Recipe for any new Alternative BOM creation.

Now How to create new Alternate BOM in Master Recipe.

Go to C223

Create new Production version or and assign Master Recipe and New Alternate BOM no. to it.Then save.

Now go to C202 then go to Material screen.

Here system will ask to create new Alternate BOM (Because till that Alternate BOM 3 is not created)

Create BOM here it is same as CS01.

Once you created a BOM in Master Recipe itself this error gets active and whenever you are going to create the BOM for same materia through CS01 this error gets popup. As this is error massge you have to create new BOM through Master Recipe itself.

You can change this error to Warning Massge but if it is std. then no other way to doing so.

For Creating new BOM though Master Recipe,

First create new Production version through C223 and assign new Alt BOm no.

Then go to Change Master Recipe and go to that MAaterial tab.

System will propose you availbale production version. Select new production version.At that time system will ask you to create the BOM.Ceate it (It is same as CS01).

You must be creating same alternative BOM again i.e. creating BOM with existing alternate number.
