I am working in CRM 5.0. My scenario is to create Lead via external legacy data. Is there any BAPI, Can this be done via ELM. Please guide.

Yes..we can create lead through ELM.
just see the maping transaction. CRM_MKTLIST_MAP click the list box fomat type.
You can see the Lead formatting style.
