Sorting on multiple columns

We're currently on DS 1.6 SP5 Patch 2.

I would like to sort CROSSTAB on two and more dimensions (columns).
For example: Name, Currency, Value. Is it possible to do? I saw different attributes, but I didn't find answer for my question.

If not, what ways to solve can you recommend to realise that?

Thanks, Olya

    Hi Olga,

As Christian has pointed out, you can certainly sort a Crosstab by multiple dimensions, by sorting in the Initial View Editor of the assigned data source or by allowing the user to interactively sort dimension columns directly on the Crosstab. This works as standard. However, I am not sure about the meaningfulness of also attempting to sort by a measure column, as this will naturally break any existing sorting on the dimensions.

Do you mean that you want to sort each dimension independently or you would like the sorting to "cascade"? Perhaps you could post a mockup to clarify your requirement?

    Regards,

    Mustafa.

    Dear Olga,

the sorting is based on the Query-Design. So you can just sort the first dimension in total, all the following Dimensions are just sorted "within" the first Dimension. If you don't want to install the plugin, suggested by Tammy, your only way of Sorting is by moving the dimension to the first column. However, there is no (standard) way, of sorting more than 1 column based on the total values. Just as it is within a BEx Query.

    Regards,
    Chris
