OM Number Ranges *Invalid subgroup*

Hi Gurus,

I am facing problem creating number ranges for Org Objects...

I have created plan version 01 Current Plan thru T-Code OOPV

and Plogi Plogi switch to 01(My Plan Version)thru OOAP

I have maintained NUMRG COMP X Number assignment for all plan versions

Now when I am creating number range thru OONR

when I define a subgroup say 01S, 01C, 01O with the help of new entries, I am getting an error that its an invalid group.

It is not allowing to create even 01$$ subgroup for which i may define number ranges.

I read the syntax for subgroup it says the first two chracter need to be plan version code and the rest two can be object symbol or $$ for generic.

I tried a lot but there is no output...

Pls guide !!!

Thanks in Advance!!

Kumarpal,

If you set the switch 'NUMGR COMP' to 'X', the number assignment is plan version-independent.

This means, you cannot have different number assignments for different plan versions.

So you cannot cannot have plan version dependent number assignments.

That is why the system is not accepting 01 in the first two places of $$$$, as it indicates plan version dependent number assignments.

You cannot have number assignments such as 01O, 99S, etc.

But you can have different number assignments for different objects; such as $$O, $$S, etc.

If you set the switch 'NUMGR COMP' to ' ', the number assignment is plan version-dependent.

Then you cannot have number assignments such as $$O, $$S, etc.
