Hello All,

recently I configured Alerts in our XI 3.0 SP 19.0 system. I have couple of issues.

1) The alerts are coming in the RWB alert inbox every MINUTE, while it is configured for 5 minutes in "CCMS connection" under alert configuration tab in the RWB. where to control this??

2) though in the alrtcatdef, the fixed reciepients are given alert mails are not coming to our mail box (regular mail - inbox). the users have correct email ids in the user details of the XI system. is there any seperate configuration or setting to be done for outgoing smtp mails?? so the alert mails are sent.

appreciate any help.

regards

Hey,

for Issue No. 2.

Check the following settings in SCOT.

1)Click on the smtp(it will open the general node data) and check whether the Mail host is given properly or not.

on the same screen(ie. general node data) click on set(corresponding to Internet) and check for an "*" in the address area.

if not please provide.

2) Go to views and select job. if there is no job scheduled, please ask your basis team to do so.

Check the following settings in your ALRTINBOX.

1)go to Subscription tab and tick mail.

2)if subcription is not activated go to SICF and activate it.

3)if the service is not available in sicf(refer 1038797) need to release a report.

RSXMB_ACTIVATE_ICF_SERVICES in XI so as to activate all the ICF services

Hi,

Have you defined all the container variables which you are using including the variable &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&.

Also you can use 'Insert Expression' icon to insert a defined container variable instead of manually typing it.

Hi Vi,

1) The blog does not talk abt any timesettings, however alert steps are configured & working fine, but my issue is frequent alerts than expected.

2) smicm has smtp service running and also in scot the mail server & node are up & activiated.

any idea about the issues..
