Analysis for Office folders visualization on BI

Dear Experts,

we are using the BI4.2 platform to store and execute our Design Studio / Lumira /Web applications and we are planning to migrate our BEx Analyzer reports on Analysis for Office to BI4.2 as well.

The users will be authorized both to DS/WEBI /Lumia and Analysis, but after performed the logon to BI Platform on Analysis they asked to see only the folder in which are stored Analysis for Office reports, so they do not want see all Design Studio app folders in Analysis.

Is there anyone who already solved my issue or implemented it?

Thanks for your reply, I confirm you have understood very well. Let me try to recap using an example and assuming that the Analysis for Office files will be stored alone in a dedicated folder:
USER A - - > From CMC Is authorized to see folder A (WEBI), folder B (Design Studio) and the new folder C (Analysis for Office).
When my user will enter on Analysis for Office BI Platform side the only folder that should be visualized is the letter C; while if my user execute the logon on BI Launchpad all the three folders should be seen.
Please let my know if it is more clear now.

Dear Tammy, thanks a lot for the shared document, I have read the involved section (Setting Rights) but I did not find any suggestion about my issue. Probably is not possible to manage visualization in Analysis for Office for the only folders in which AO documents type are saved.

Do you have any suggestion?

Hello Carmine - I misunderstood

I assumed that the Analysis Office files would be stored in a separate folder and then you could control the security by folder; however it doesn't sound like that is the case. Perhaps we should change the tag to BI Platform and ask for help there?

Hello Carmine,

You can ask your BI platform admin to set up security rights for your Analysis Office users to that folder on the BI platform.
