License for EsriMap for Lumira Discovery and Designer?

Hi experts,

we want to build a prototype and would like to know if we need an EsriMap License for Lumira Discovery or Designer or not. I read in a blog that the EsriMaps are provided as prelicensed solutions with Lumira 2.0 but does this mean that we don‘t need licenses for the predelivered 4 EsriMaps?

Also I notice that if I don‘t give an Esri User and try to open a report with EsriMap in Lumira Discovery, then it doesn‘t work. It asks me to switch to offline map.

Can you please let me know?

Thanks,

Regys

Hello Regys - I found a SAP Note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2541716 and it has some work around steps. Would you please review the SAP Note?

Hi Tammy,

thanks for the link, I will check it and see if it will fix my issue. But as I understand, for using Esri Maps in Lumira, it is not needed to buy an extra Esri User license or something similiar?

Thanks,

Regys

Yes, you are correct in that last statement - I haven't needed the license for Esri maps

The Esri maps are part of Lumira; for more details this is covered in the free OpenSAP course for Lumira - see open.sap.com/courses/lum1

I've used both without the Esri license

Hi Tammy,

thanks for the response. What about in the discovery client? When I use the geomap and don‘t have a Esri User it gives me an error to switch to offline mode. How do you explain this?

Thanks,

Regys

That's strange; that should work with the Esri online uses Esri base maps. Would please share some screen shots and the version/SP of Lumira Discovery that you are using?

Im using Lumira 2.0, SP0. Without an EsriUser I cannot connect to EsriOnline and to access the maps.

I read that I can switch to the offline map or switch to no proxy, but does it have to do with the license of Esri User or it is just this trick?

Thanks,

Regys

Could you please let me know if I need to have an Esri ArcGIS online account so that I can use the online Esri Maps (geomaps) in Lumira 2.1 or something else is need.

The Esri ArcGIS online account is not a free account and I have read that Lumira includes actually the Esri Maps on it? Could you please give me a hint here?

Thanks,

Regys

Hi - your settings are the same as mine and I don't experience this issue. But perhaps it is the type of map you are using? Could you share screen shots there?

one more thing for the SAP Note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2541716

mentioned by Tammy Powlas

"4. Ensure the proxy server settings check box is ticked and the correct proxy server settings are entered"

This only applies if you work behind a proxy.

However, if you have "No Proxy", leave the "Proxy Server" Settings check box cleared and also disable "Automatically detect settings".

and do not forget to configure "Proxy Setting" in Discovery Preferences / Network to "No Proxy"
