Using HANA Live Connection in SAC to consume financial accounts

Dear all,

we are currently trying to implement a financial data model into SAP Analytics Cloud, consuming data from a HANA Calculation View via Live Connection through the Cloud Connector.

The calculation view provides a value amount in 3 different measures (amount in LC, TC and GC) and the full financial statement accounts in a separate dimension with a hierarchy.

While creating the model with the Live Data Connection in SAC, the 3 measures are automatically mapped to the SAC account dimension and the financial accounts will be created as separated dimension among all other data dimensions.

In there any way to map the financial accounts into the SAC account dimension, as it is possible with models using import data connection? We would like to utilize different accounts as measures and create KPIs in in the modeler which can then be used in different stories?

With kind regards,
Christoph Manys

Hi Christoph,

I'm not sure if this can be achieved since you want turn the accounts into a measures and make this a 1 key figure model (similar to BPC standard).

Could you try to convert this into a 1 key figure model and make the currency values another dimension in your fact table?

Hello John,

thanks for your hint. We will check if we can change this in the modeling of the HANA view.

Do you see any workaround in SAC itself?

Best regards,

Christoph
