Hi,

Am new to XI....

Now am working with IDoc acknowledgment scenario (File-to-IDoc)

I need to get back the ack for the posted iDoc.

My doubt is whether it is a synchronous or asynchronous scenario?

whether i have to use BPM for this?

Please help me.

Regards,

Krish

Hi Krish,

download "How to Handle Acknowledgments for IDoc" from [Exchange Infrastructure How-to Guides for SAP NetWeaver 2004|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/howtoguides?rid=/webcontent/uuid/dd0326a7-0d01-0010-f690-b94802b06c8a] and go through the guide to assure processing of acknowledgements and their monitoring.

IDocs are allways asynchronous, so you could have a scenario with BPM:

synchronous: SOAP <-> BP

asynchronous: BP -> IDoc and Acknowledgement->BP

Udo

hi,

it is a synchrounous scenario,

to handle the response(synchrounous) u dont require to use BPM always. u can use modules and handle it.

go thru this blog to handle synchronous scenario with out BPM.

https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File%28Without+BPM%29

The above blog is used to handle RFC, u can use IDOC instead of RFC.

Thanks,

Madhav
