C4C, HCI and Cloud Connector certificates confusion

Hi all!

What kind of certificate exchange needs to be done between C4C tenant, HCI tenant, SAP HANA Cloud Connector server and ERP system in order to enable iFlows from C4C to ERP?

Does the server where Cloud Connector is running require it's own CA signed certificate that needs to be imported to HCI and ERP?

    Hello Ossi,

The certificates you use depends on what kind of Authentication do you plan to perform - Basic Authentication or Client Authentication.

    Basic Authentication

    • Load your HCI Tenant's SSL Certificate in your C4C Tenant.

    • Load your C4C Tenant's SSL Certificate in your HCI KeyStore.
    • Make sure your Adapter has the Proxy Type as On-Premise and the URL does not use https - when you use HANA Cloud Connector, you are not allowed to use a HTTPS URL.

    Client Authentication

    • Hi Bhavesh and thanks for the tips.

We plan to use client authentication at least in the productive scenario.

I'm still a bit confused :) Can we actually add anything to HCI keystore ourselves (the jks file)? I can download it but I can't open it. We need to ask SAP?

Then the ERP certificate. I think we don't get anywhere with a self-siged certificate. So,we must get a CA signed certificate for the ERP too. But to which systems I need to upload it? Only to HCI or also to the Cloud connector?

      Thanks for patience :)
